| Drop In Day (s) Date: Sat August 23, 2008 Sat October 18, 2008 Sat November 29, 2008 Sat December 13, 2008 Time: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Location: Epping, NH Imagine your loved one's faces when they open their amazing holiday, birthday, or just because gift you made from gourds. Drop-in-Days are for are to take the time that is often so hard to due these days and work on those projects that are crying out to be finished, or those ideas that you have but, no time to get them started, having a creative block on a project - get ideas from other gourd artist, or just come and chat. During the Drop-In time the following tools are available to use for a minimal fee of $10.00 for the day plus cost of any supplies needed i.e. saw blade, sand paper, burs etc...
Bringing a project that does not require the use of our tools, the cost - Cost is only $5.00 for the day. Gourd instructor will be on hand during these times when you may need some assistance. ( please note this time is really not intended to be a one on one instruction to learn a new technique but to assist you on a technique or idea you may be stuck with.). If you are looking to learn a specific technique than let the instructor know and a class can be scheduled. Please go to class registration and register for planning purposes. | Basic Relief Carving Date: September 13, 2008 Time: 9:00 am to 1:30 pm Location: Epping, NH In this class students will learn how to: put a design on a gourd, basic relief carving, various stippling techniques, and inlay. Many kinds of items may be inlaid to included but not limited to: stones, beads, buttons, heishi, and glass. Supplies included: Gourd from Wuertz Gourd Farm, Arizona, whom grow some of the best carving gourds, object to inlay, beads to inlay, mini circular saw shape bur and sandpaper. Students are responsible to bring: a power carver such as Dremel, Foredome or other type of power carving tool. (please note that the cordless Dremels are not appropriate for this type of class.) any burs you may have, hand files, or rifler Files. Instructor has a power carver available if needed. Please let us know when registering. First request/full registration first serve. Please note, that the finish work i.e. painting will be completed at home. Cost: $40.00 |
